Dr. Papp Explains the Benefits of IV Sedation

Does the thought of visiting the dentist cause your heart to race and palms to sweat? The mere idea of sitting in the dental chair is enough to keep millions of patients away from the oral care they need. From simple cleaning visits to implant surgery, dental anxiety and fear affect many people. However, Dr. Papp and our caring team are changing this, one patient at a time. Avoiding or putting off dental treatment only invites further oral problems, and even systemic health concerns. Let us introduce you to relaxing sedation solutions that calm the fear and anxiety holding you back. You deserve to wear the smile of your dreams!

Our sedation solutions target every level of fear and anxiety

Dental fear and anxiety stem from a number of factors. Traumatic past experiences, fear of shots and extensive treatment are common reasons patients fear the dentist. Whether you experience minor anxiety or major fear when it comes to dental care, we have the right sedation solution for you. We also use The Wand® anesthesia to maximize your comfort when numbing treatment areas. Dr. Papp is highly experienced in delivering each of our sedation options. He has certified in IV conscious sedation and received advanced training from Ohio State University Medical Center.

Our sedation options

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is a safe and mild sedative that is inhaled to enable a more comfortable, relaxing experience.

Oral Sedation

Taken as a pill about an hour before your appointment, oral sedation provides a deeper state of relaxation than with nitrous oxide alone and reduces the sense of pain.

IV Conscious Sedation

IV sedation is administered intravenously and renders patients completely relaxed and sleepy throughout treatment – many patients fall asleep during their procedure. Dr. Papp received advanced training and is certified to offer this deeper form of sedative medication.

Local Anesthetic

Local anesthetic blocks sensations in areas where the medication is injected.

We truly enjoy helping our patients reach the bright healthy smiles they deserve. In many cases, this is accomplished through simple sedation dentistry services. Relaxed, pain-free procedures, little-to-no-memory of treatment and a healthier relationship with dentistry are just a handful of the benefits sedation offers. Sedation lets you overcome your fear, no matter how extreme, and enjoy stress-free visits that create the healthy, happy smile you deserve. Reaching better oral health through sedation is truly a life-changing experience!
